Chapter History

The San Francisco Peninsula Alumnae Chapter is proud to be one of the oldest SAI alumnae chapters on the west coast!

The San Francisco Alumnae Chapter was founded on January 1, 1944, and has since divided twice. The first division included the San Francisco chapter, the East Bay chapter, and the Santa Clara Valley chapter. San Francisco and Santa Clara Valley chapters merged in 1990, forming the San Francisco Peninsula Chapter, which stretches from San Francisco to Silicon Valley to Monterey. The East Bay Alumnae Chapter includes Marin County to the west, the East Bay cities of Berkeley and Oakland, and the Diablo Valley and environs eastward.

Our membership currently includes 34 active alumnae members, 4 patroness members, and 15 distinguished members.
